Production Planner - Working in a CNC Machine Shop.
NCS are looking for a Production Planner to join an advanced machine shop in Birmingham. This role would be suitable for a CNC Supervisor, Production Planner or Experienced machinist who is turning biased looking for their next step in their career. This company are a leading precision engineering company in the UK that specialise in machining for Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence, and Motorsport to name a few. They produce components of the highest quality and complexity ensuring their standards meet AS9100. Responsibilities; - Plan and schedule production for the turning department in the machine shop ensuring quality standards are met
- Ensure all job specs, drawings and materials are available prior to production.
- Optimise machining schedule and minimise downtime between runs.
- Monitor job progress and ensure orders are completed OTIF.
- Creating programs for Mazak lathes in OneCNC and online in Mazatrol.
- Troubleshooting machining issues
- Maintain necessary documents on production regarding, job orders, job cards and quality checks.
Experience Required; - Previous or Current experience as a machinist with experience using Mazatrol, Fanuc or OneCNC.
- Turning biased or 50-50 between Turning and Milling
- Strong understanding of tooling/consumable requirements for jobs
- Experienced working with a variety of materials
- Ideally experienced looking after a team in a Team Leader or Supervisor position.
