Description:

We are helping to change Britain’s nuclear legacy into an environmental one. As one of the largest reactor decommissioning programmes in Europe, we are seeking to build a special team of world-leading professionals. A team that can help accomplish our mission safely, securely and cost-effectively. It’s a unique opportunity for talented individuals who want to help the country turn a corner.

As Chief Operating Officer you will take complete operational responsibility for decommissioning activity across the Magnox sites, leading and directing the site closure directors, programme directors and all project management /construction activity to ensure safe and compliant delivery of our mission, objectives and operating plan. Ultimately you will ensure the smooth running of the internal operation; with an eye for the operational detail, a pragmatic approach and a clear appreciation of risk management and health and safety, effectiveness in this role will have a direct impact on the success of the organisation.

The successful candidate will bring a comprehensive knowledge of regulations relating to construction, site, demolition, decommissioning, waste management and a successful track record of leading complex projects and programmes, gained from either within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated and safety critical operations. Beyond the strong operational and technical capabilities that you bring to this role, you will be able to demonstrate your strengths as a leader; operating successfully across multi-site locations, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders at Board level and across the organisation, with the credibility and leadership style to deliver continuous improvement whilst maintaining the highest standards of delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in changing Britain’s nuclear legacy into an environmental one, and with a new team in place, it is a great time to join the organisation.
