To work as part of an integrated project team providing a full project controls service including cost management, planning, risk management and baseline support and advice. Independently and robustly manage, measure and report performance of a significant, dynamic and rapidly changing programme of work within the bounds of the LLWR project controls framework and with a level of professional input in the execution of the role. Duties: - To be aware of and abide by the company’s Standards and Expectations
- Independently and robustly monitor expenditure.
- Control project expenditure as part of an authorisation chain
- Work collaboratively with the project team and supply chain to accurately monitor, control and forecast work delivery and associated costs
- Develop, build, maintain and progress detailed working level schedules and client level schedules
- Prepare earned value reports in a timely manner, and support the project team in cost and earned value forecasting
- Analyse earned value performance data to identify, explain and propose ways to address variances
- Be actively involved and lead where appropriate the preparation and presentation of trending data and the production of baseline change controls and detailed volume documentation
- Provide a governance role within the project controls framework by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project control policies and procedures, and actively promote adherence to them throughout the business
- To provide support to the application of risk processes and to the Project Teams and Risk Manager in risk identification, reviews, workshops and upkeep of risk registers
- Coach and mentor team members to support in their development and upskilling
- Contribute to on-going project controls systems development
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Controls Manager
- To be aware of the environmental responsibilities of this role
Essential Skills/Qualifications: - Has gained significant experience in project controls disciplines (Nuclear preferable but not essential) and be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and share best practice
- Conveys strong communication and interaction skills, externally and internally and has the ability to influence key stakeholders and lead on all project controls activities on the assigned programmes of work
- Demonstrable experience of cost control and forecasting within a project controls environment
- Demonstrable experience of schedule development, update and maintenance
- Experience of using Cost Management Software e.g. SAP, Business World
- Experience in the assessment of Contractor Applications for Payment and working collaboratively with the supply chain
- Experience of using Primavera P6
- Spreadsheet manipulation skills and Excel work
- Consistent performance under pressure
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good relationship building skills and ability to manage relationships with key clients or stakeholders across the organisation
- Pays close attention to detail with a meticulous and methodical approach
- Flexible approach to work, willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the team
