Qualifications Required

  • ONC / OND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (minimum)
  • HNC / HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred)

Job Description

Provide Electrical / Control and Instrumentation (C&I) designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) ensuring utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment, and facilities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and requirements throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver Electrical / C&I designs that meet all safety and performance requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practices related to electrical engineering.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Uphold high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security, and Quality (ESH&Q).
  • Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality Electrical / C&I designs addressing defined requirements across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Maintain design intent throughout the project, collaborating with other disciplines as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Assurance, ESH&Q, and statutory requirements.
  • Apply standards proportionately and ensure engineering best practices are followed.
  • Escalate design or compliance concerns to the relevant Principal Engineer.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical engineering legislation and standards.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and engineering design tools/applications.
  • Understanding of standards associated with nuclear and/or high-hazard facilities.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience producing control and instrumentation designs as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments, preferably nuclear and/or explosives sectors.
