Description: Field Service Engineer Location: Dublin (Airport) Salary: Basic €50,000, plus 20% shift allowance and callout/overtime bonuses. An exciting opportunity has opened for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist team supporting advanced security screening systems at Dublin Airport. Security Clearance checks: As part of the onboarding process, candidates must be willing and able to obtain full airport security and airside access clearance, which includes background checks, five-year employment verification, and adherence to strict compliance standards. The Role You will play a key part in supporting critical airport security systems, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Working independently and as part of a wider team, you will install, commission, maintain, and repair a broad range of X-ray, CT, and electromechanical equipment. Systems include, but are not limited to: Checkpoint CT systems Checkpoint X-ray systems Explosive Detection Systems Automatic Tray Return Systems Explosive Trace Detection systems Millimetre Wave passenger screening technology Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality technical and customer support for installed systems across the airport. Install, maintain, diagnose, repair, and test passenger and baggage security screening equipment. Carry out scheduled and unscheduled corrective and preventive maintenance, including radiation surveys. Maintain calibration on test and radiation survey equipment. Support customer training on installed systems and equipment. Report design issues, reliability concerns, and software bugs to technical support teams. Follow all safety requirements, procedures, manuals, and training obligations. Maintain relevant certifications through ongoing product training. Identify root causes of repeated component failures and recommend corrective actions. Highly Desirable Experience A degree in electronics technology, mechanical or electrical engineering, equivalent military training, or certified aircraft maintenance. Previous experience working with X-ray or computed tomography screening systems, ideally within an airport security environment. Working knowledge of Linux and Unix.
