Overview

A well established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support a strong pipeline of UK and international infrastructure projects.

The team delivers technically complex schemes across rail, highways, water, energy and the nuclear sector. Due to sustained project demand, they are looking to strengthen their geotechnical capability with an experienced design focused engineer.

The Role

Working within a multidisciplinary design environment, you will deliver geotechnical analysis and detailed design on major infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include:

• Geotechnical assessment and detailed design
• Finite element modelling using PLAXIS 2D and 3D
• Ground model development and GI interpretation
• Design of foundations, retaining structures and earthworks
• Technical input into tenders and client proposals

There may be occasional short term travel linked to project requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• MSc in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
• Chartered or working towards ICE Chartership
• Strong consultancy based geotechnical design experience
• Experience with PLAXIS and other numerical software such as GeoStudio or Wallap
• Understanding of CDM Regulations
• Strong technical reporting and checking ability
• Confident communicator with client facing experience
• Full UK driving licence
