You will have an MSc or PhD in quantitative earth sciences, applied mathematics, physics, chemistry or engineering, or equivalent experience, and will be able to demonstrate:

You will work on a wide range of industry, regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas and be given a unique opportunity to develop all-round experience in the nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management industry.
We offer a competitive employment package and flexible working conditions. Our head offices are located in a pleasant market town in the East Midlands and we have a nascent office in the Harwell area; an option may also be available for experienced candidates to work in other parts of the UK.
The UK nuclear industry is experiencing renewed interest, both for the construction of new nuclear stations and for the decommissioning of the existing nuclear infrastructure and the disposal of resulting wastes. Overseas, radioactive waste disposal programmes are underway in Belgium, Finland, France, Sweden, Japan and the United States, amongst others. Galson Sciences Limited is active in all of these areas, with work encompassing support for the development of geological and near-surface disposal facilities, safety/performance assessment, development of decommissioning and waste management strategies, regulatory and licensing support, options studies, nuclear safety, criticality safety assessment and geosciences research.
