Reactor Commissioning Manager - Electrical

Would you like to manage the Reactor Test Section to meet the Astute Integrated Master Schedule? We currently have a vacancy for a Reactor Commissioning Manager -Electrical at our site in Barrow.

As a Reactor Commissioning Manager -Electrical, you will be responsible for ensuring maturity and delivery is to the agreed time, budget and quality, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan

This role will provide you with the ability to be involved in one of the most challenging Engineering projects in the UK. The Astute Submarine Project is providing high class vessels to retain and maintain a 'Continuous At Sea Deterrence' for the United Kingdom.

Your main responsibilities as a Reactor Commissioning Manager - Electrical will involve:

Liaise directly with Senior Management to advise on programme issues, progress against the IMS, documentation required to support the plan and any metrics in use.

Management & integration of an engineering programme or project, consisting of a number of major engineering systems, disciplines, platform assemblies, equipment or software products.

Develop and maintain relationships with customers to meet customer requirements, and lead in swift resolution of major issues.

Lead and manage a team of Reactor Commissioning Project Leaders, with an overview of the wider Reactor Commissioning Team.

Represent the Company at Design Reviews and other outworking requirements as applicable.

Delivery of packages of work/services, involving new products and/or complex upgrades, utilising new and existing technologies, requiring multiple interfaces with customers/suppliers.

Promote safe working practices in accordance with company HS&E policy and compliance with business quality best practice.

Your skills and qualifications:

Detailed knowledge of Reactor Systems

Experience of liaising with Senior Stakeholders both internally and externally

Engineering degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent qualifications/ experience)

Ideally have experience of commissioning process/practices, but not essential

Experience in the delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations for cost, quality, timeliness and specification.

Proven track record of strong leadership
