Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

A well-established UK-based engineering firm, operating within multiple high-integrity industries, is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support site operations, production uptime, and continuous improvement efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business with strong technical heritage and modern working practices.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conducting reactive and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment
  • Supporting the development and execution of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Manufacturing simple replacement parts using lathes, mills, and welding equipment
  • Assisting with machinery moves, installations, and modifications
  • Working at height and operating Forklift Trucks and Mobile Elevated Platforms (training provided)
  • Supporting and supervising third-party contractors as needed
  • Reporting faults and maintenance concerns to supervisors and logging via the in-house maintenance system
  • Installing, inspecting, and repairing 110V, 240V, and 415V three-phase electrical services
  • Reading and working from electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Ensuring adherence to current Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and maintaining high workplace standards

What We're Looking For:

  • Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification in mechanical fitting
  • Formal qualification in IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
  • Strong understanding of machinery installation and process improvement
  • Familiarity with conduit, armoured cable, tray and trunking installations
  • Comfortable using a range of testing equipment and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Multi-skilled across mechanical and basic electrical disciplines
  • Strong understanding of quality, health & safety, and housekeeping best practices
  • Valid UK Driver's Licence
