Mech Tech Professionals have an opportunity available for a Senior Electrical Designer to apprehend a full-time position within the pharmaceutical sector based in Macclesfield, Cheshire East.

Our client, one of the UK's largest design and build contractors within the Water, Pharmaceutical, Power & energy, Nuclear and Food & Beverage industries require a competent professional to join their team immediately.

The shift pattern will be 40 hours per week.

Overview:

Whilst holding a pivotal role, the Senior Electrical Designer will support and be responsible for the projects team, through the provision of Electrical Engineering, Design and Consulting services.

This position requires interface with the client and the Installation team to meet the requirements of projects. The Senior Electrical Designer needs to attend the Macclesfield office 3 days per week (minimum).

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide resource estimates for design related activities
  • Review and assess customer needs & aspirations
  • Produce reports, conceptual/detailed designs & scope of works (Typically RIBA 2-4)
  • Produce documentation in accordance with standards and quality requirements
  • Support the delivery of projects to time, quality, and cost targets together with the ability to multi-task and prioritise to an efficient manner
  • Interface with other disciplines such as Mechanical, Process, HVAC and Civil needs/stakeholders
  • Seek, review and apply, where appropriate, innovative solutions

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in a relevant design role including successful delivery of electrical installation designs within projects for the pharmaceutical sector (Preferred)
  • Membership of professional Institution or similar body is desirable
  • HNC or Degree in technical engineering related subject
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical construction projects is desirable
  • Experience of E&I design best practices
  • Experience in electrical building services design including LV Distribution, Lighting, Small Power, Fire Safety Systems, Security Systems, Structured Cabling etc essential
  • Project lifecycle experience (Concept through detail design to construction support)
  • Sound experience and knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 (Preferred)
  • Confidence & competence with working solely or as part of a team
  • Other

  • AutoCAD LT
  • Relux/Dialux
  • Electrical OM Cable Sizing Software / Trimble pro-design
  • Navisworks
  • Revit (Desirable)
  • Microsoft suite of programs
