Electrical QC Inspector 12 mth contract + rolling + Outside IR35 + Reading based Role Profile You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer & Inspector providing independent Quality Control across a range of electrical disciplines. Fit and able to work at height and confined spaces, you will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills and be able to operate on sites with minimal supervision. Your role will involve working in a client facing environment on sites with differing working cultures. As such you will be demonstrating excellent customer service skills and the ability to problem solve. Experience / responsibilities - Minimum of 10 years experience in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years of electrical inspection of fabrications / manufactured equipment for conventional power generation applications.
- Attending meetings or reviewing paperwork, eg. inspection test plans or lifetime quality records or you will be physically inspecting various types of systems and equipment such as cable management systems, 3 phase distribution and control panels, UPS, HVAC controls, lighting, power, instrumentation, trace heating, fire alarms and a variety of specialist equipment. All inspected to the applicable standards and specifications.
- Sound understanding and qualification where necessary in Electrical Inspections.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: - Min 5yrs working knowledge of UK requirements for Electrical Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry including Oil & Gas. Heavy Industry, Construction, other Renewables sectors.
- Quality- SQEP Assessment (Suitably Qualified and Experienced person)
- Be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
- Have experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of influencing and negotiating, particularly in technical discussions relating to Inspection.
- Have good technical writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements
- Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Heavy Industry, large Construction sites, Biomass, Renewables, high hazard areas. Have you inspected on large construction sites/nuclear sites?
Qualifications - Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 4/TR23/TR21 or ONC/HNC or Degree
- Proven and demonstrable experience as a skilled electrical person
- C&G 2391 / 2392 (or 2394/2395)
- ATEX (desirable)
- COMPEX 01-04 (desirable)
- 17th or 18th Edition
