We are looking for motivated and innovative Civil Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your civil expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams. The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your technical experience and the position you take within our team: - Completing the structural design of new build nuclear structures, including for accidental situations such as seismic and blast. - Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders. - Providing technical review and responding to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site. - Perform analysis of structures within commercial FEM packages (experience in using Ansys beneficial). - Provide a technical link with reinforcement detailers, also checking detailing models and drawings. - Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. YOUR PROFILE To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria: - Bachelor's or master's in Civil or Structural Engineering. - Working towards or recently Chartered with the ICE, IStructE, or with equivalent experience. - Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design. - Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standard, and ETC-C the applicable code for HPC/SZC). - Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team. - Agile and self-motivated, with a focus on improving personal and team performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges. - Experience working on major infrastructure projects and can demonstrate ability to deliver high quality work packages to schedule. - You enjoy new challenges and are keen to learn and willing to take responsibility whilst also wanting to support others within our team. - Experience working in a highly regulated industry based in the UK, e.g. nuclear. The following experience is also beneficial: - Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus. - Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software.
