Morson Talent are working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have a CONTRACT requirement for a Field Engineer Welding & NDT discipline to join their established Project Delivery team in Somerset. All work is associated with a Nuclear New Build Project - Europe s largest infrastructure Project - currently under construction. Site based working arrangements, competitive all-inclusive daily rates, inside IR35. Overview
• As a Field Engineer focused on welding and NDT activities, you will oversee critical quality assurance tasks on the Project, ensuring construction activities align with contractual and safety requirements.
• You will identify and mitigate potential quality issues, supporting on-time project delivery.
Typical Activities:
• Submit and document non-conformance reports as needed.
• Review and monitor Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records.
• Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to standards.
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental objectives across site operations.
• Ensure documentation and reporting align with regulatory and quality requirements.
Experience & Skills
• Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent as a minimum).
• Current or previous qualifications in multiple NDT methods (PCN).
• Experience in construction involving fabrication and installation of pressure systems and structural steel.
• Fully conversant with British/European standards and design codes including RCC-M and BS EN.
• Proven QA/QC experience and ability to document findings concisely and accurately.
• Strong organisational, delegation, and communication skills.  |
