One of our clients are looking for multiple Senior QS' to assist them across various National Grid substation projects around the South West - Exeter/Weymouth/Pembroke/Bristol
Set-up:
ASAP start
6-month initial contract
Working on National Grid substation project
Cornwall based
Hybrid role - 3 days on site

Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
Administer NEC4 contracts including early warnings, compensation events, and programme assessments.
Ensure compliance with National Grid's commercial governance and reporting standards.
Cost Control & Forecasting:
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
Monitor actual costs against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Procurement & Subcontract Management:
Lead procurement of subcontract packages and manage subcontractor performance.
Negotiate terms and ensure alignment with NEC4 contract principles.
Change Management:
Identify, value, and manage change events and compensation event submissions.
Liaise with project teams to ensure timely resolution of commercial issues.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with project managers, planners, and engineers to ensure commercial alignment.
Interface with National Grid commercial teams and external stakeholders.
Reporting & Documentation:
Produce monthly commercial reports, CVRs, and final accounts.
Maintain accurate records of all commercial activities and decisions.
Client requirements:
Proven experience as Senior QS
Strong NEC knowledge
Previously worked for Tier 1 contractor
Previously worked on relevant project - OHL/substations/utilities/nuclear/water etc
