Quantity Surveyor Location: Northwich (Site-Based) Contract Length: 4-6 Months (Potential Extension) About the Role A leading Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a high-profile CAT A & B office fit-out on an industrial/nuclear site in Northwich. With significant live changes and multiple contractors working around the clock, this project requires a commercially sharp QS who can manage variations, value engineering, and contractual compliance effectively. This is a site-based role, best suited to a senior-level QS with strong contractual awareness and the ability to be proactive in a fast-paced, change-heavy environment. Key Responsibilities - Ensure compliance with contract T&Cs (hybrid contract with JCT themes and US client specifics).
- Identify, record, and manage variations promptly and accurately.
- Undertake value engineering to maximise efficiency and cost savings.
- Provide robust commercial and contractual advice to the project team.
- Prepare and manage interim applications for payment and change control documentation.
- Work collaboratively with site teams and external contractors to ensure commercial objectives are met.
- Produce accurate and timely commercial reports.
Person Specification - Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within fit-out, industrial, or complex commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and ability to adapt to hybrid contractual frameworks.
- Excellent eye for detail with the ability to highlight risks and opportunities.
- Proactive, highly organised, and confident operating in a high-variation environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and multiple contractors.
- Available for an immediate or short-notice start.
