About the Role:
A great opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team designing
electrical/pneumatic panels for the defence and industrial markets. The ideal candidate
must be experienced with electrical and control systems, creation of electrical schematics
and panel layouts, project documentation supporting the manufacture, testing and
commissioning stages. Strong practical working knowledge of switchgear, control
equipment and PLCs are required. Will be exceptionally organised, determined and will
thrive in an expanding development environment. They will have a willingness to work
within a dynamic team to get the job done to a high standard.
Main Duties:
• Experience of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks E-Plan, Autodesk Inventor and Vault
Professional Software
• Producing electrical drawings/schematics to a high standard
• Producing 2D/3D general assembly drawings to a high standard
• Documentation including I/O Lists, bills of material, FDS, FAT, SAT, Manufacturing
Standards
• Assembling and organising information for the electrical department
• Ensuring compliance with the relevant ISO/IEC standards
• Collating information for the "as built" drawing packs
• Support Tendering and Proposals sales team as necessary
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems
Essential Job Specific Skills & Qualification:
• Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) and be a British National (no dual
citizenship)
• Strong understanding of 24VDC & 230/400VAC electrical circuits
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
• Highly organised and self-motivated
• Able to use own initiative and work without supervision
