Junior Project Engineer - Location: Ipswich, Suffolk (with travel to various project sites across the UK and Ireland)
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000 gross per annum
Reed Engineering are supporting a rapidly growing specialist in their field who are seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of innovative projects across the British Isles, with a focus on marine engineering. The successful candidate will be enrolled in a professionally accredited training programme and will play a key role in various stages of project engineering from tender to commissioning. Day-to-day of the role: - Tender Engineering: Support the business development team by engineering client requirements into cost-effective and executable solutions.
- Pre-Construction Engineering: Convert tender concepts into detailed plans, working collaboratively with fabrication, operations, and project delivery teams.
- Delivery Engineering: Develop detailed technical information for client approval, material procurement, and construction activities.
- Project Management: Coordinate and manage the execution of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring alignment with all project stakeholders.
- Project Controls: Assist the Commercial Team in managing schedules, controlling project costs, and overseeing cash flow.
- Construction and Commissioning: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety processes and actively participate in turning design into reality on-site.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in Engineering (BEng or MEng) with a minimum grade of 2:1.
- At least one year of experience in an engineering environment, including on-site experience and competency in surveying/setting out.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, confident in building relationships across all levels.
- Proficient in using Eurocodes, British Standards, PIANC, DNV, and other relevant design codes and standards, preferably for temporary works.
- Good understanding of H&S regulations, including CDM 2015.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and Design software packages.
- Full UK Driving License.
