Contract Opportunity: Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer - Hybrid (Sellafield Projects)
Rate: 51- 61 per hour (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Cumbria office
Sector: Nuclear - Task Delivery Projects
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to lead and deliver complex projects for Sellafield? We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide technical expertise and drive the delivery of task-based projects across the site. This hybrid role combines focused on-site work in Cumbria with the flexibility to work remotely. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and manage mechanical engineering tasks across multiple project stages
Develop and review designs, calculations, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with Sellafield standards, nuclear safety requirements, and site licence conditions
Support design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP activities
Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and assurance
Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to achieve project objectives efficiently
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer in nuclear or highly regulated environments
Strong technical knowledge in mechanical systems, structures, and process equipment
Experience delivering task-based projects with attention to schedule and quality
Familiarity with Sellafield design processes and standards (advantageous)
SC clearance preferred (or ability to obtain)
