We are expanding our Nuclear team in Derby to support several of the UK's most significant and technically demanding nuclear programmes. We are seeking a talented Structural Integrity Engineer to contribute to projects spanning the UK Submarine programme, life-extension of the existing nuclear generation fleet, and the development and justification of high-integrity structures for new nuclear establishments.

About the Role

As a Structural Integrity Engineer, you will take ownership of analyses and assessments from concept through to delivery. Your work will involve conducting advanced structural integrity assessments, supporting safety-critical designs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to provide robust, high-quality technical solutions.

You will play a key role in ensuring components and systems can withstand demanding operational environments through the application of rigorous assessment methodologies and recognised nuclear industry codes.



About You

You are an enthusiastic and driven engineer with a strong technical background in structural integrity and finite element analysis. You enjoy solving challenging engineering problems, thrive in collaborative project environments, and are confident managing your work to meet time, cost, and quality objectives.



Key Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience within the nuclear sector desirable (design, analysis, substantiation).

  • Strong record of delivering technical engineering projects and services.

  • Proven experience performing complex structural integrity assessments, including:

    • Fatigue assessments

    • Fatigue Crack Growth (FCG)

    • Fracture mechanics assessments

  • Familiarity with relevant standards and codes such as ASME Section III and R6.

  • Proficiency in producing high-quality technical documentation, including calculations and technical reports.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
