Job Title: Principal Electrical & Instrument Engineer Water Sector
Location: London (Hybrid 1 2 days per week office-based)

We are recruiting for a Principal Engineer to join a well-established engineering design consultancy with a strong pipeline of long-term work in the water, hydrogen, and nuclear sectors. This is a dynamic role for a motivated engineer who enjoys working across feasibility, FEED, detailed design, and construction support phases. You ll contribute to a portfolio of water and wastewater projects supporting utilities across the UK. Key Responsibilities: -
Lead and oversee electrical and control deliverables across all design phases -
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders -
Develop Electrical Load Schedules and specify telemetry, MCCs, and instrumentation -
Prepare subcontract installation scopes and conduct technical bid evaluations -
Support site surveys, construction liaison, and commissioning activities -
Ensure compliance with national and international standards, including WIMES -
Promote safety, sustainability, and Net Zero initiatives across project delivery Requirements: -
Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering -
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership -
Strong background in EICA design within the water or wastewater sector -
Experience approving documentation for construction -
Knowledge of UK regulations including ATEX, CE/UKCA, EMC, and PED -
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills -
Proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and project delivery  |
