My client is a leading global producer of specialty chemicals, polymer additives and precursors. Operating a high-hazard Upper Tier COMAH manufacturing facility, they are seeking an E&I Technician (Level 2) to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical, instrumentation and control systems across site.

This opportunity is well suited to a qualified NVQ Level 3 Electrical/Instrumentation Technician who is 18th Edition qualified and looking to develop within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.


The Role:
Reporting to the E&I Coordinator, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities across electrical, instrumentation and control systems, ensuring plant reliability and compliance with strict safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems

  • Support fault-finding and diagnostics on control, instrumentation and electrical equipment

  • Install, maintain and test equipment, including work within hazardous areas in line with ATEX and site standards

  • Work in compliance with the Permit to Work system, accepting permits where authorised

  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation using the Engineering Management System

  • Use the ERP system to raise material and service requisitions

  • Contribute to reliability improvements and plant optimisation initiatives

  • Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and COMAH regulations


The Candidate:
Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Instrumentation, or related discipline

  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

  • Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Strong awareness of safe systems of work and working in regulated environments

  • Ability to follow procedures, prioritise tasks and work independently on routine maintenance
  • Experience from other highly regulated environments such as nuclear, gas, petrochemical, or similar safety-critical industries


Desirable / Development Toward Level 3

  • HNC or HND in Electrical, Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline

  • COMAH site experience

  • Previous experience within a chemical manufacturing plant

  • CompEx certification (Ex01 Ex06) or hazardous area training

  • Cherry Picker (MEWP) experience.
