The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Bonn invites applications for a W3 Professorship for Theoretical Physics of the Strong Interaction to be filled at the earliest possible time at the Helmholtz-Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The research area of this professorship will be the investigation of strongly interacting quantum systems in theoretical hadron, nuclear, and/or particle physics by means of modern, non-perturbative methods. We are looking for candidates that will complement and/or enlarge the broad spectrum of activities in theoretical and experimental hadron, nuclear, and/or particle physics in Bonn. The professorship is expected to contribute significantly to the Cluster of Excellence "Color meets flavor" and the Collaborative Research Center 1639 "NuMeriQS: Numerical Methods for Dynamics and Structure Formation in Quantum Systems" and to other existing or future initiatives. Teaching according to the Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung NRW is an integral part of the professorship, which includes teaching physics lecture courses and seminars on all levels of the courses of study in German and in English, ranging from bachelor to graduate courses. Corresponding teaching experience is expected. The successful candidate should also be actively involved in academic self-governance. The formal requirements are regulated by 36 HG NRW.
