Description: Project Engineer - Civils

Help shape the future of low-carbon energy while delivering critical infrastructure on one of the UK s most important nuclear power sites.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer (Civils) to work on complex engineering projects that directly support the UK's energy security and sustainability goals. You will play a key role within a major nuclear generation programme, collaborating with experienced engineering and project professionals while developing your leadership and technical capabilities.
Working within a highly regulated environment, you will contribute to delivering safe, efficient and innovative engineering solutions. This role offers the chance to expand your project engineering expertise while working on nationally significant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation including quality plans and technical specifications
  • Manage technical queries in line with established project processes and procedures
  • Support contractor selection, evaluation and contract placement activities
  • Review contractor drawings and documentation, providing technical assessments and feedback
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys and technical liaison with designers and station engineers
  • Prepare and manage engineering change documentation and associated project records
  • Develop commissioning documentation and act as Test Team Leader where required
  • Support Project and Construction Managers to ensure safe, timely project delivery
  • Monitor compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and project delivery processes

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status or HND in a relevant engineering discipline
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification
  • Experience delivering construction projects under CDM regulations
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality compliance within regulated industries
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience managing engineering documentation and technical queries
  • Project management qualification desirable but not essential
  • Experience with electrical power systems or infrastructure projects advantageous
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments
  • Power station or nuclear site experience beneficial but not essential
