Mech Tech Professionals are currently recruiting for experienced Electricians to support a key temporary project at a Nuclear Power Station based in Suffolk.

Our client, an international leader in industrial and engineering support services, requires competent professionals to start from 05/05/26 - Dependent on CTC clearence status.

Electricians (Nuclear Project)
Location: Suffolk
Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract (until approx. 30.06.2026)
Start Date: 05.05.2026 (subject to CTC clearance)

Salary:

PAYE - NAECI RATES

  • Basic Rate: £23.25 per hour (First 8 hours Monday to Thursday & First 6 hours on a Friday)
  • Overtime A: £32.55 per hour (After 8 hours Monday to Thursday, After 6 hours on a Friday & First 4 hours on a Saturday)
  • Overtime B: £41.84 per hour (After 4 hours on a Saturday & All hours on a Sunday)
  • Lodge & Travel Allowance: £355.67 per week / £50.81 per day (NAECI Blue Book)

Shift Pattern & Working Hours:

  • 13 days on, 1 day off shift pattern
  • 10-hour shifts per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with appropriate health and safety, risk and quality requirements ensuring both the safety of yourself and those around you.
  • Read, interpret and apply engineering drawing information.
  • Installation of a variety of wiring and containment systems in both administration and plant areas.
  • Isolation and reinstatement of electrical services.
  • Undertake planned and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment, ensuring legislative compliance and all works are carried out in full compliance with BS7671.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on a variety of electrical systems to maximise plant uptime.
  • Produce and amend relevant documentation including, but not limited to, inspection reports, built drawings and maintenance logs.

Key Requirements:

  • Recognised apprenticeship at Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
  • BS 7671 IEE Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
  • CCNSG (Site Safety Passport)
  • CTC clearance or willingness to undergo clearance.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds 239-1 Inspection and Testing or equivalent.
  • Recent experience working in high hazard environments, such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Nuclear industries (e.g. Top Tier COMAH sites).

This role would suit a proactive individual with good experience working within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, power generation, or heavy engineering.
