Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a P6 Site Planner on a 6 Month Rolling Contract, based in Somerset.

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on P6 Site Planner to support the delivery of complex nuclear power plant projects in Somerset. This is a site-based role requiring active involvement in updating the programme, managing slippages, and ensuring accurate, real-time reflection of site progress within Primavera P6.

The role will involve close coordination with site teams and advising the PMO team on programme updates, changes, and impacts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining schedule integrity, providing clear insights into project performance, and ensuring all updates are effectively captured and communicated within P6.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure accurate sequencing of construction activities within a nuclear environment.
  • Produce and manage baseline programmes, updates, and recovery plans.
  • Monitor project progress on-site and update schedules accordingly.
  • Conduct regular site walk-downs to validate progress and identify potential issues.
  • Perform critical path analysis and highlight risks, delays, and opportunities.
  • Provide short-term and long-term lookahead programmes to support site delivery.
  • Support change control processes, including assessing programme impacts of variations.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with strict nuclear industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate National Grid-related work scopes and interfaces into the master programme.

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Relevant planning or project controls certifications.
  • Professional membership (e.g., APM, CIOB) is advantageous.
  • National Grid Experience
