Commissioning Engineer (M&E) - AWE Burghfield

Location: AWE Burghfield (site-based, full-time)
Rate: 500- 600/day (Umbrella PAYE, Inside IR35 - all-in)
Duration: ASAP - September 2026
Clearance: SC preferred (must be eligible to obtain)

We are seeking experienced Mechanical & Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support a major programme within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This is a site-based role, requiring strong commissioning expertise and a proactive, safety-first approach.

• Commissioning of building services and facility systems
• Support FAT / SAT and full system lifecycle testing
• Execute functional testing, validation, and handover activities
• Work closely with project teams to ensure compliance and delivery

• HVAC / ventilation
• Fire detection & alarm systems
• CCTV & security systems
• Lighting & power distribution
• Mechanical & electrical plant

• Nuclear experience (non-negotiable)
• Proven commissioning experience on large, regulated projects
• Strong background in building services / M&E systems
• Experience with FAT, SAT, and test documentation (test packs)
• Valid CSCS card (site access requirement)
• SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)

• Experience within Defence / high-security environments
• Relevant technical qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering discipline)

• Full-time, site-based role (Burghfield)
• Occasional weekend work available (optional)
• Multiple positions available
