Site Engineer / Section Engineer Location: Plymouth (Candidates who are willing are lodge are welcome) Reporting to: Section Engineer / Sub Agent Working Hours: 45 hours per week, 07 00 Overall Purpose of the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major redevelopment project within a live, secure infrastructure environment in Plymouth. The successful candidate will assist with the technical compliance of works, ensuring that activities are delivered safely, on time, to specification and to the required quality standards. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must be born in a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. Key Responsibilities The Site Engineer will support the site team with engineering, quality, safety and technical delivery duties, including: - Setting out works within allowable tolerances from provided site control.
- Checking setting out points, benchmarks, instruments and measuring equipment.
- Ensuring survey equipment is calibrated and calibration records are maintained.
- Assisting with the preparation of as-built drawings.
- Maintaining drawing registers and ensuring information is current and controlled.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of quality systems and project quality documentation.
- Assisting with the preparation, development and completion of quality check sheets.
- Carrying out quality checks, inspections and surveys.
- Supporting site safety, environmental and quality inspections.
- Completing daily diaries and keeping site trackers up to date.
- Recording and testing workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork and reinforced concrete works.
- Providing engineering support to resolve technical issues and respond to technical queries.
- Ensuring the workforce understands setting out information and that it is suitable for the works being undertaken.
- Preparing sketches and technical information for site distribution.
- Supporting the procurement of site materials and equipment.
- Assisting in the review of progress against programme, quality, dimensions and quantities.
- Supporting the implementation of site safety, health and environmental procedures.
- Assisting with short-term planning, including six-week lookaheads.
- Supporting constructability reviews and planning documentation for heavy reinforced concrete works.
- Assisting with the review and production of Temporary Works Design briefs.
- Supporting reinforced concrete, formwork, falsework and temporary works activities.

Essential Requirements - Civil engineering or construction-related qualification, such as HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng.
- Experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience.
- Familiarity with Leica survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, optical levels and digital levels.
- Understanding of reinforcement detailing, sequencing and construction.
- Experience with formwork and falsework.
- Temporary works experience, particularly within reinforced concrete works.
- Experience reviewing and producing Temporary Works Design briefs.
- Ability to assist with RAMS and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with quality management systems.
- Awareness of commercial processes.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work within a site team.
- Proven ability to manage work safely, accurately and to programme.
- Flexible approach to working weekends or out-of-hours shifts on a rota basis, where required.
Certifications and Tickets - CSCS Card White PQP/AQP, Red Trainee or Red Provisional.
- SSSTS.
- Supervisor HSE test.
Desirable Requirements - TWS or TWC certification.
- First Aid at Work.
- Experience developing ITPs.
- Experience in groundworks, earthworks and reinforced concrete.
- Nuclear or secure-site experience.
- Working towards Chartership or Incorporation with ICE, IStructE or another relevant professional body.
