Morson is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading nuclear operators. We're currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support ongoing operations at a nuclear power station based in South Kent. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering and technical services team working at the heart of the UK's low-carbon energy infrastructure. Why This Role? The station is currently entering a pivotal phase in its lifecycle, transitioning from generation to defuelling and decommissioning. This presents a rare chance to work in an active nuclear environment while gaining exposure to one of the most complex and regulated engineering challenges in the sector today. You'll be part of a large, multi-disciplinary client-led team, contributing to a broad portfolio of engineering projects. With support from experienced project engineering professionals, this role offers excellent scope for professional development-ideal for those looking to progress toward leadership within the nuclear or wider energy sectors. What You'll Be Doing: Preparing and maintaining key project engineering documentation, including technical specifications and quality plans Managing technical queries and ensuring they are addressed in line with established procedures Supporting contractor selection and the placement of engineering contracts Reviewing contractor drawings and technical documentation Conducting feasibility studies, technical appraisals and site surveys Liaising with design teams and on-site engineering personnel Developing and managing Engineering Change documentation Assisting in commissioning activities and leading test teams where appropriate Working alongside the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure safe, timely and efficient project delivery What We're Looking For: A degree-qualified engineer (or HND with significant experience) - preferably Chartered or working toward Chartered status Strong electrical engineering background, particularly within regulated or power generation environments Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification is highly desirable Experience working under CDM and with construction and installation projects - ideally in electrical systems or power distribution Familiarity with project management principles and modern delivery methodologies Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Prior experience at nuclear or similarly regulated facilities would be an advantage, though not essential What's in it for You?
