Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands
Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 37 hours per week
Salary: ?17.00 - ?18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plater / Welder to join a highly skilled fabrication and machining team working in a large, modern, ISO-certified engineering facility. You will play a critical role in producing heavy steel fabrications and structural components used in demanding sectors such as nuclear, subsea, oil & gas, mining, scientific research, and power generation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG and TIG welding in line with BS EN ISO 15614?1:2017+A1:2019 Level 2 procedures
Qualify and maintain certifications to BS EN ISO 9606?1:2017 welding standards
Fabricate components using carbon and stainless steels ranging from 6?mm to 100?mm in thickness
Work with structural profiles such as beams, columns, channels, and angles
Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment for handling large components
Ensure all welds meet contract-specific NDT standards (DPI, MPI, UT) as required
Contribute to a quality-driven production environment focused on precision and compliance
Required Skills & Experience
Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques
Proven ability to work to detailed welding procedures and drawings
Experience with heavy fabrication, structural steel, and large-scale projects
Certified or eligible to certify to relevant BS EN ISO welding standards
Comfortable using cranes, slings, and associated lifting equipment
Understanding of third-party inspection techniques including dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing
Committed to health & safety and maintaining high standards of workmanship
