Quality Engineer site-based

£55-60 per hour (outside IR35) + expenses + collaborative team environment + average 45-50hr working week

Our client, a highly successful engineering services organisation employing 60,000+ individuals globally, is looking for a Quality Engineer for an initial 12mth contract (rolling).

Quality Engineer remit includes:

  • Evaluate, verify and certify quality across specified operational projects.
  • Propose and embed improvements where necessary to ensure delivery is effective, minimises the cost of failure and meets customer, stakeholder and Project specifications and requirements.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on the quality of delivery performance on specific projects.
  • Review and acceptance of relevant operational documentation or project supplier quality submissions.
  • Define Quality and Lifetime Record strategies for an operational plant, project or contract where appropriate.
  • Provide assurance that adequate document and records management arrangements are implemented in their area of responsibility.
  • Provision of technical advice to operational or project functions.
  • Investigate quality related concerns and events, and identify appropriate corrective/preventive action, escalating quality issues.
  • Provide oversight and assurance of the quality management system, including advice to users on quality matters.

Quality Engineer profile:

  • NVQ4/HNC/HND in Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Must have current SC / DV clearance + recent experience in nuclear environment / MOD or similar highly regulated environment.
  • Registered with a relevant professional institute.
  • Experience with welding procedure reviews, LTQR packs, quality docs reviewing, mechanical completions reviews and QMS systems
  • Experience working in an environment subject to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Experience liaising with external regulators.
  • Competent in the inspection of systems and components.
  • Understanding of quality control and manufacturing processes in a highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Able to keep accurate records and produce clear and concise reports.
  • Decision making capability for resolution of manufacturing issues.
