Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced engineer to provide engineering support on safety, security, and building services systems. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, project teams, and commissioning staff to ensure design integrity, compliance, and readiness for handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier document reviews covering:
    • Safety Systems (Hard-Wired Alarm Systems, Ventilation Monitoring)
    • Security Systems (CCTV, Card Access Control, Intruder Detection, Electric Fence)
    • Building Management Systems (BMS), Door Control & Monitoring Systems
  • Provide commissioning documentation reviews and support as projects transition from design to commissioning phase.
  • Support reactive project needs including:
    • Design changes
    • TQ's (Technical Queries)
    • Commissioning reservations and close-out activities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure safety, security, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintain adherence to site standards, regulatory requirements, and quality processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Background in EC&I, Control Systems, or Systems Engineering (ideally in nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated environments).
  • Experience with safety-critical and security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, monitoring systems, BMS).
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning, supplier engagement, and documentation review.
  • Ability to manage design changes, technical queries, and interface with commissioning teams.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance (SC minimum).

Desirable

  • Experience within high-security, regulated, or defence-related industries.
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to safety/security and building management systems.
  • Chartered or working towards CEng status (desirable but not essential).
