Role

Project Control Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Project Management team to produce Cost Breakdown Structure based on project Work Breakdown Structure to set up governance requirements in discussion with the Project Manager/s.
  • Prepare process and tools to carry out pricing estimates based on project stakeholders' input. Track and analyze the project costs including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, forecasts, contingencies analysis.
  • Proactively engage regularly with project stakeholders to gather inputs and achieve agreement. Demonstrate continuous improvement, automation, lean techniques to bring consistency and efficiencies across projects, programmes and portfolios in project controls, cost and schedule management.
  • Produce forecasts of total project costs, annual costs, and monthly cash flow costs and provide variance analysis and explanations. Conduct earned value and project performance analysis periodically. Monitor, control and analyse project cost and schedule information, identify variances and propose alternatives to the Project Manager. Prepare reports to facilitate challenge and analysis to meet the project's needs.
  • Produce and issue cost reports to the client and project team, including key project indicators. Develop, manage, revise, and update integrated detailed project schedules across all phases of project execution. Proactively analyse project schedules including comparing cost/resource curves to actuals, tracking float consumption, and change order impact analysis to ensure contract compliance.
  • Support Project managers by raising early warnings and preparing change orders for submission to clients and updates to project controls documents.
  • Supply chain management to support contract preparation and meet fair payment requirements. Support risk identification and reporting. Demonstrate leadership by guiding and mentoring junior staff to meet delivery requirements.
  • Expertise in Power BI/Data Analytics; ability to analyze large data sets and develop actionable insights. Create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI.
  • Identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them. Create relationships between data and develop tabular and multidimensional data models. Perform DAX queries in Power BI.
  • Analyze current ETL processes, design new systems, and enhance existing Business Intelligence solutions. SQL querying for results, with filters and graphs for data understanding.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 6 years of relevant experience on global UK, Middle East or US projects; consultancy experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Power BI.
  • Excellent language, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of earned value concepts and calculations.
  • Proficiency in cost management tools such as Ecosys and report preparation skills.
  • PMIS software knowledge such as Primavera, Unifier, Ares Prism, Ecosys (preferred).
  • Experience with Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and Financial System Interface; Budget/Cost Control; Cash Flow; Contingency Management; Cost Change Control.
  • Exposure to NEC3 / NEC 4 Contracts; strong understanding of CPM concepts and calculations.
  • Enterprise Project Management experience and exceptional organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Primavera P6, MSP.
  • Microsoft Power BI expertise.
  • O365 Apps proficiency.
  • Automation skills using Visual Basic or similar.
