Responsibilities As a Production Engineer - (Assembly), you will: - Utilize CAD software to design tooling for assembly, welding, and pressure testing.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with visual aids to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage ERP/MRP data, including part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production routes.
- Design and validate new production lines to optimize efficiency and output.
- Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement lean manufacturing tools such as Kanban, 5S, and SMED to streamline operations.
- Prepare and justify CAPEX proposals for new equipment and technologies.
- Provide technical support to production teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Analyze product costs and address quality issues, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and change requests.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and drive productivity improvements.
- Contribute to Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects and other engineering solutions.
Qualifications To excel in this role, you should possess: - HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
- Strong understanding of modern manufacturing methods and principles.
- Proficiency in CAD 3D design for jigs and fixtures.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), SMED, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Kaizen, and 5S.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, and VAVE principles.
- Excellent communication, project management, and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Project, and Excel.
Day-to-Day Your typical day will involve: - Designing and refining tooling and fixtures to enhance production processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement SOPs.
- Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Leading team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Providing hands-on support to production teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Preparing reports and presentations to communicate progress and results to stakeholders.
