Rigger

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Black Hat Supervisor, you will:

• Safely attach and detach loads to gantry crane hooks and lifting devices.
• Signal and direct crane operators during lifts, ensuring clear communication (using hand signals, radios, or agreed site protocols).
• Assist in the movement and positioning of heavy and complex loads, including large prefabricated nuclear plant components.
• Follow all Hinkley Point C site safety procedures, RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements), and permit-to-work systems.
• Carry out pre-use inspections of rigging gear and report any defects immediately.
  Ensure exclusion zones are maintained during crane operations to protect the workforce.
  Maintain compliance with nuclear site regulations, site induction requirements, and security protocols.

• Experience in assembly of gantry cranes
  Level 3 Apprenticeship in Moving Loads, Lifting and Position Steel Structures, Plant or Equipment or Steel Erection. OR
  Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Moving Loads, Lifting and Position Steel Structures, Plant or Equipment or Steel Erection. (Minimum Level 6 in the above if apprenticeship/qualification awarded in Scotland) OR
  ACE Card in Moving Loads

• Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
