| Description: | Assistant / Junior Project Manager (Design) Permanent: £35k-45k Location: Manchester Office based Role Purpose The Assistant/Junior Project Manager (Design) supports the successful delivery of design projects either managing simple projects independently or contributing to complex, multidisciplinary programmes. The role ensures work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the quality standards and specifications agreed with the client. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Coordination • Manage delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects or assist senior managers on complex programmes. • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in line with client quality requirements. • Update, monitor, and manage project programmes and milestones. • Coordinate commercial and contractual project requirements, particularly under NEC contracts. • Prepare tenders for water design projects, working closely with engineering teams. Stakeholder & Client Management • Maintain clear, effective communication with clients to achieve strong satisfaction scores. • Build and manage interfaces between the internal design team, supply chain partners, and other stakeholders. • Provide regular progress and performance reporting to senior leadership. Team & Process Management • Support or lead aspects of design management activities. • Assist with managing change, design variations, and commercial impacts. • Help ensure compliance with contract, quality, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications & Experience • 2 5 years experience in one or more of the following:
• Strong interest in project management and career development in the discipline. Preferred Qualifications & Experience • Experience working within the regulated water industry. • Background in delivering or managing multidisciplinary projects. • Ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams. • Experience with NEC and fixed-cost contract types. • Knowledge of managing design changes, variations, and commercial impacts. • Hands-on experience performing or overseeing design work. • Strong understanding of project programming and scheduling. • Demonstrated project management experience.
