Electrical Engineer Location: Reading

Clearance: Requires existing SC clearance with eligibility for DV Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a high-priority Defence project. This role focuses exclusively on electrical engineering and requires strong technical capability in LV/HV systems and associated infrastructure. Due to project timelines, this is an urgent requirement and suitable CVs need to be submitted as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities -
Deliver electrical engineering support across LV and HV installations. -
Produce and review electrical calculations, including cable sizing and load assessments. -
Support the design and specification of transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards. -
Ensure designs comply with applicable Defence, site-specific, and electrical standards. -
Engage with internal engineering teams, project managers, and safety specialists to ensure successful delivery. -
Provide technical input throughout design, installation and commissioning phases. -
Contribute to problem-solving, risk assessments, and engineering reviews. Experience & Skills Required -
Proven background as an Electrical Engineer working on complex infrastructure or defence-related projects. -
Strong experience with LV/HV electrical systems, cabling design and calculations. -
Knowledge of transformers, LV/HV distribution, protection, and power system layouts. -
Ability to work within highly regulated environments (nuclear/defence experience advantageous). -
Excellent communication and documentation skills. -
Requires existing SC clearance with eligibility for DV.  |
