About the Opportunity

As a Senior physicist you will be expected to lead small to medium sized projects or tasks independently requiring minimal guidance. You may oversee the work of small teams on those projects and mentor junior team members. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of the tasks and for technical interactions with clients. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Detailed knowledge and experience within a physics discipline required in the nuclear industry such as transient analysis, reactor physics, shielding, thermal hydraulics, etc
  • Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgements on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  • Good consultancy skills, e.g., good communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements and time management skills
  • Experience of bid writing or assessment and associated commercial awareness
  • Familiar with nuclear safety assessments and safety case construction

Qualifications

  • Nuclear masters and PhDs preferred or Degree or Post Graduate qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgements on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  • Good consultancy skills, e.g., good communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, time management skills
