| Description: | My Client, a specialist Earthing and Lightning Design Consultancy, is searching for a Earthing and Lightning Design Engineer who has experience using CDEGS to join their team. This is a remote opportunity to work on varied designs for Nuclear Power Stations, substations, railways, battery storage and renewable energy sites. Candidates are required to have a strong academic background in Electrical or Power Engineering and are working towards Chartered Status. Candidates are also required to have experience completing earthing and lightning protection designs and earthing system analysis using CDEGS. You are also required to have experience of earthing issues and standards associated with power networks up to 400 kV. A driving licence is essential to visits varied sites across the UK. Site visits will be infrequent, you will be mainly based from home. As a Earthing and Lightning Design Engineer you will join a specialist team based across the UK on a remote basis. You will have the opportunity to work on varied projects spanning a variety of sectors for the MOD, Energy Companies, Private and Public Sector Clients. You will design for Nuclear Power Stations, battery storage farms, substations, railways and renewable energy (wind farms) across the UK. The role will involve; -Earthing design studies and design using CDEGS ensuring compliance. -Lightning projection design. -Soil resistivity testing. - Earthing system measurements of substations up to 400 kV AC. -Electric and magnetic field (EMF) calculations and lightning protection. - Client meetings to discuss project progress and make recommendations to clients to mitigate potential issues. -Site visits across the UK, when needed.
