The role

As a Commissioning Engineer - Electrical, you'll play a key role in bringing complex defence, marine and engineering systems to life. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure the safe, reliable and compliant operation of electrical systems that support the UK's national defence capability.

Day-to-day, you'll be part of a high performing engineering team supporting world class, mission critical assets. Your work will directly contribute to the security of the nation, while providing you with significant opportunities for personal development, technical growth and long term career progression.

• Delivering commissioning activities across electrical systems to ensure they meet operational, safety and regulatory standards.
• Producing, reviewing and managing commissioning documentation and test procedures.
• Collaborating closely with design, quality, engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Conducting inspections, tests and evaluations to verify system readiness.
• Supporting safety, quality and assurance processes throughout all commissioning stages.

This role is full time35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Commissioning Engineer - Electrical

• Experience delivering commissioning, testing or verification of electrical systems within engineering, marine, defence, nuclear or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including fault diagnosis and system testing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and safety documentation.
• Experience working to regulated or high integrity engineering standards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications for the Commissioning Engineer - Electrical

• Apprenticeship or equivalent training in an electrical discipline - Essential
• A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent) - Desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
