Are you an Environment Manager, Environmental Advisor or Environmental Consultant with experience supporting major infrastructure or complex construction projects?

This is an excellent opportunity to move into a client-side position overseeing a major programme of tunnelling, shaft and heavy civil engineering works across London.

Working alongside the Senior Environment Manager, you will provide technical assurance across multiple live construction sites, reviewing contractor submissions, monitoring environmental performance and challenging areas of non-compliance.

The role covers a broad range of environmental risks, including waste, noise, vibration, air quality, water, permitting and environmental impact assessment. You will work with delivery teams, contractors, legal specialists, local authorities and other project stakeholders to ensure construction activities and proposed changes are managed correctly.

This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term progression across a major UK infrastructure programme, with exposure to a varied range of environmental topics, complex construction activities and senior stakeholders.


The Role:

Providing client-side environmental assurance across major tunnelling, shaft and civil engineering works
Undertaking regular assurance visits across multiple live construction sites
Reviewing contractor environmental plans, permits, submissions and technical evidence
Monitoring compliance with environmental legislation and project requirements
Supporting the management of waste, noise, vibration, dust, air quality and water risks
Identifying environmental issues that may require early warnings or formal change management
Challenging poor performance and ensuring suitable mitigation measures are implemented
Supporting environmental stage gates, audits, reporting and performance reviews
Working with contractors, engineering teams, legal specialists, regulators and local stakeholders
Permanent position with hybrid working, a 12% employer pension, private healthcare and 25 days' holiday


The Person:

Environmental experience within major infrastructure, civil engineering or complex construction
Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and construction environmental management
Experience working within a live construction environment
Experience reviewing environmental documentation, permits or contractor submissions
Understanding of environmental impact assessments and major project design interfaces
Confident influencing and challenging Tier 1 contractors and senior stakeholders
Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Broad environmental knowledge or substantial experience within a relevant specialism
Experience within rail, tunnelling, highways, utilities, energy, nuclear or major civil engineering would be beneficial
Comfortable travelling between multiple construction sites across London
