Salary: £40,531 to £47,684 inclusive of 15% flexible allowance
Location: Birmingham, 3 days in office per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Document Control Manager, supporting the management and exchange of critical project information across a major infrastructure programme.

This is a people and information management role, you will have 5 to 6 direct reports and will be responsible for ensuring the team effectively manages the flow of project information between contractors, HS2 teams and other stakeholders.

Working across rail systems and wider programme interfaces, you will support Project Managers, engineering teams and other functions to ensure information is received, controlled, distributed and returned efficiently and in accordance with established information management processes.

Essential requirements

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of ISO 19650.
  • Previous experience managing Document Control or Information Management within a construction, infrastructure or major project environment.
  • Demonstrable experience line managing and developing Document Controllers or Information Management professionals.
  • Strong understanding of document control practices and project information management.
  • Experience managing the receipt, review, distribution and exchange of information between contractors and client-side project teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with demonstrable experience managing multiple stakeholders and teams simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting engineering, project management or delivery teams within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing information and stakeholder requirements.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with contractors, engineers, Project Managers and senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience within rail
  • Experience within major infrastructure sectors such as nuclear, power, utilities or transportation.
  • Previous client-side experience on a major programme.
  • Experience working across multiple contracts, projects or delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of wider quality management principles, including ISO 9001.
