The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Surveyor to join a well-established survey team on a significant nuclear new build project. You will be responsible for setting out and ensuring dimensional control across various construction phases, adhering to strict project tolerances and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform setting out for earthworks, civil engineering, and structural packages using robotic total stations and GNSS technology
  • Establish and maintain site survey control networks
  • Produce as-built surveys and dimensional control records
  • Conduct topographical surveys and volume calculations as necessary
  • Carry out structural and movement monitoring tasks
  • Process survey data and generate accurate drawings and reports
  • Maintain comprehensive QA records in accordance with project quality assurance procedures
  • Collaborate with site engineers and subcontractors to coordinate survey activities
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and nuclear safety regulations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Surveyor on major civil engineering or construction projects
  • HNC/HND or degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency with robotic total stations and GNSS equipment, preferably Leica or Trimble
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and survey processing software
  • Experience in setting out to precise tolerances and creating accurate as-built documentation
  • Understanding of survey control, error theory, and quality assurance procedures
  • Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence
  • Ability to meet site security and vetting requirements
