Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Project Manager role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:

  • Project manage mechanical handling design projects from tendering to commissioning.
  • Prepare estimates, tenders and functional/technical design specifications.
  • Manage projects and a team of multidisciplined engineers.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and client representatives.
  • Comply with relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Manage effective and 'on-time' service delivery.


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Qualified to minimum HNC in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven track record in managing complex mechanical engineering projects, and a demonstrable background in the design and application of mechanical handling systems across a diverse range of large turnkey engineering projects.
  • Relevant people management experience
  • Experience in project and contract management, estimating and tendering.
  • Familiarity with NEC contract conditions
  • Knowledge of relevant, current statutory legislation, including the European Machinery Directive
