Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Project Manager role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:
- Project manage mechanical handling design projects from tendering to commissioning.
- Prepare estimates, tenders and functional/technical design specifications.
- Manage projects and a team of multidisciplined engineers.
- Liaise with external suppliers and client representatives.
- Comply with relevant regulations and procedures.
- Manage effective and 'on-time' service delivery.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Qualified to minimum HNC in mechanical engineering.
- Proven track record in managing complex mechanical engineering projects, and a demonstrable background in the design and application of mechanical handling systems across a diverse range of large turnkey engineering projects.
- Relevant people management experience
- Experience in project and contract management, estimating and tendering.
- Familiarity with NEC contract conditions
- Knowledge of relevant, current statutory legislation, including the European Machinery Directive
