Job Title: Nuclear Project Engineer Location: Bristol/Southwest Salary: Competitive + fantastic benefits including enhanced maternity/ paternity and sick pay About the Role We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a mechanical background, specialising in welding and bringing experience working with pressure equipment. This role will support multiple projects within their UK wide project portfolio which includes existing generation, nuclear de-fuelling, nuclear new build, nuclear decommissioning and/or nuclear defence. A background in the nuclear environment is a bonus but not essential. - Provide Engineering input into Conformity Assessment, safety case verification and Inspection activities in the Nuclear domain (and when requested in other energy domains incl wind projects)
- Defining standard inspection processes and procedures
- Produce and/or approve procedures and technical specifications.
- Contribute to production of Project Execution Plan and quality manuals where required
- You will play a central technical role within project delivery and therefore will need to have good communication & technical management skills
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers and liaising with customers/manufacturer s to understand their requirements/expectations
- Drive continuous improvements within the department
- Ensure project are delivered in line with applicable accreditations
Experience & Skills Required: - Have an excellent working knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and welding procedure development & review in a highly regulated industry.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Inspection
- Design verification
- Welding
- NDT
- Nuclear Safety
- Pressure Vessels / PSSR
- Have experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of influencing and negotiating, particularly in technical discussions.
- Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of nuclear quality requirements (or other highly regulated industry)
- Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with staff at all levels and with other technical disciplines
Qualifications Required: - A relevant engineering degree or equivalent
