Rullion, a leading recruitment partner in the Nuclear and Renewable Energy sector, is proud to be recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Delivery Manager to support the delivery of pressurised rotating machinery on one of Europe's most ambitious infrastructure projects - Hinkley Point C (HPC).
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in heavy industrial mechanical construction, particularly in the installation of turbines, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating machinery, to contribute to the UK's future energy security.
The Role As a Mechanical Construction Delivery Manager, you will take the lead on supervising the installation and construction of pressurised rotating equipment during the mechanical erection phase - from civil handover through to commissioning readiness.
You'll work closely with contractors, senior project stakeholders, and site operations teams to ensure the timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of your designated work scope.
Principal Accountabilities Oversee day-to-day installation works of rotating mechanical systems (pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, etc.). Provide technical support and leadership for on-site construction activities. Support contract partners in delivering their work packages safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Monitor and record on-site activity, reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager with updates, risks, and issues. Attend PLOD/PLOW and technical meetings with contractors and lead on output documentation. Coordinate with H&S, quality, project controls, logistics, and engineering teams to maintain alignment. Conduct safety and assurance inspections, championing a culture of safety-first construction delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Essential Experience & Skills: Proven experience in mechanical construction on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (e.g. power stations, refineries). Deep understanding of rotating equipment installation, including shaft alignment and concentricity checks. Experience assembling/disassembling centrifugal pumps, industrial gearboxes, or similar pressure-mechanical components. Strong working knowledge of precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial gauges, calipers). Ability to interpret complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. Skilled in writing technical reports and tracking site progress effectively. Strong communication, coordination, and contractor management abilities. Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (degree or equivalent vocational training). SMSTS or IOSH certification. Working knowledge of CDM regulations. Desirable: Experience with steam, gas or fuel turbines, centrifugal compressors, high-power generators (>600 MW), or large drum filters. Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures. Previous experience within nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated sectors. Experience in high-security site operations.
