The Role

Our Client is seeking a Diverse Electrical Installation Group Lead to work in support of the Electrical Design Manager and the System and Electrical Discipline Manager. The successful candidate will be supported by experts within the team and potentially other engineers/experts within the System Teams.

This position is located in Bristol head offices and may require business trips to France (1-2 trips per quarter). The role operationally reports to the Electrical Design Manager and functionally to the System, Electrical and I&C discipline manager.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a specialist team of Engineers, Contract and Technical engineering Leads

Ensure accurate completion and verification of electrical engineering deliverables to be issued to the Customer and other Disciplines

Manage supplier contracts for small power equipment, normal and emergency lighting, and site power sockets

Monitor design and manufacturing of diverse electrical systems and specific electrical equipment

Drive preparation of electrical design studies and update System Design Manuals based on site feedback

Follow up on electrical equipment contracts, focusing on interface with cabling and connecting activities

Monitor team resources, processes, and workload activities to ensure optimum performance

Maintain suitable balance between workload, skills and resources to ensure deliverables are issued on time and with quality

Provide technical leadership guidance and expertise to engineers and technicians

Manage resources planning within budget and provide feedback to management

Lead, develop and implement nuclear safety culture within the team

Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including site teams and licensees

Verify quality of documents in line with technical, nuclear safety and environmental standards

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience

Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Proven experience of electrical engineering or relevant experience supporting nuclear operating fleet

Relevant experience in the nuclear industry

Experience in effectively managing own and team's workload to respect deadlines

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English

Proactive and confident in communicating with remote offices including France and Germany

Experience in developing positive working relations within project environments

Knowledge in EPR system design sequences, I&C or Safety Classification sequences

Experience in management of transverse technical and contractual topics

Ability to prioritise, manage numerous interfaces, and understand imperatives of downstream disciplines

Knowledge of cable sizing and cabling tools

Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and application within nuclear projects
