• £65,400 - £89,000 (Birmingham)
• £79,862.60 - £99,829.20 (London)

Location:London or Birmingham, 3 days in office per week.

This is a rare opportunity to join a landmark infrastructure programme as Lead EMS Engineer, acting as the technical authority for the Engineering Management System (EMS) - a large-scale SCADA control system that will integrate approximately 150,000 railway assets into one intuitive operational interface.

You'll play a pivotal role in defining how the new railway will be monitored and controlled - from tunnel ventilation and pumping stations to power systems and low voltage panels - ensuring system usability, operational safety and seamless integration. Working closely with designers, contractors (including Siemens), and future operators, you'll be the subject matter expert bridging technical design and operational needs.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in SCADA, EMS, or complex control systems within rail, power, aviation, or industrial automation.
• Background in large-scale control systems across sectors such as rail, nuclear, water, aviation, power, or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of system integration, monitoring, and automation solutions.
• Expertise in alarm management, user interface design, and control system usability.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Skilled in stakeholder management, acting as the technical link between design, delivery, and end user teams.
• Experience across the full system lifecycle - from concept and design through to integration, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Confident providing technical assurance and leadership, representing the client as an internal expert.
