Description:


Our client, a key provider in the Defence & Security sector, is currently looking for a C&I Rigs Engineer to join their team in Derby on a contract basis. This position involves playing a critical role in supporting vital nuclear programmes, including UK Submarine initiatives, the existing nuclear fleet, decommissioning projects, and new nuclear establishments.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce electrical control system layouts.
  • Develop equipment from concept design through commissioning.
  • Maintain electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Develop equipment layouts within space claims.
  • Ensure compliance with design codes and industry standards within a safety-critical environment.
  • Produce key technical documentation including calculations, design reports, and requirements specifications.
  • Manage supply chain processes associated with projects.
  • Collaborate effectively within engineering teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector, with experience working on experimental rigs preferred.
  • Proficiency in producing electrical control system layouts and developing equipment from concept to commissioning.
  • Experience with AutoCAD electrical software is desirable.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical projects and services within safety-critical industries.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to relevant design codes and industry standards.
  • Experience in producing comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Supply chain management experience.
