Position: Contract
Location: Hinkley Point C

Duration: 12 Months Rolling

Rate: Circa 190 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave Circa 255 p/d Umbrella

Job Purpose / Overview

As an Operational Drawing Engineer, you will be responsible for generating and revising P&IDs and electrical drawings to support the Commissioning and Operations teams at Hinkley Point C, in alignment with the project schedule. In addition to producing these drawings, the draftsperson will ensure compliance with relevant processes and provide advisory support on related documentation. To facilitate the creation of drawings, the draftsperson will be expected to utilise project documentation from several disciplines.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Generate and modify electrical diagrams and P&IDs to support the CommOps organization.
  • Support with the production of other drawings outside the scope of electrical and P&IDs as required.
  • Ensure compliance with processes governing the creation, approval, validation, and revision of drawings.
  • Recommend improvements to drawings based on prior experience and lessons learned.
  • Ensure drawings are produced and updated in accordance with project timelines.
  • Advise on the necessary software tools required to meet the specifications of the Hinkley Point C project.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Procedures team to assist in the production of drawings.
  • Extract relevant data from various project documents to create accurate drawings.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Proficient using AutoCAD.
  • Possess 3D AutoCAD Skills.
  • Drives for continuous learning and improvement.
  • A proactive analytical thinker with an ability to work with minimal supervision and on their own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a project organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in nuclear or similarly regulated processes.
  • Good understanding of quality arrangements required in UK nuclear regulated environment

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • 3+ years of relevant experience producing electrical drawings P&IDs.
  • Has relevant qualifications supporting.
  • Has experience extracting data from design documents.
