We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer (EC&I) to join Torness Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a key role within the Project Management Resource (PMR) team, which operates across a UK-wide network of nuclear sites and power stations. The role will be primarily based at Torness Power Station, with occasional business travel to other UK sites as required. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager but will be directly accountable to the client for the successful delivery of assigned projects. Role & Responsibilities Accountable to the Client Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and/or Construction Manager for the successful delivery of all aspects of allocated projects Supporting Project Managers and Construction Managers in managing projects from assignment through to close-out, ensuring delivery is safe, timely, compliant and effective Preparing, reviewing and maintaining engineering and EC&I documentation, including quality plans, technical specifications, schedules and supporting documents Supporting contractor selection and contract placement, including technical input to tender evaluations Carrying out technical reviews of contractor documentation and drawings, including EC&I designs, layouts and associated engineering deliverables Managing technical queries in accordance with approved processes and procedures Undertaking technical appraisals of project options, feasibility studies and site surveys Liaising closely with designers, EC&I specialists, contractors and station engineering staff Supporting the safe delivery of works in line with site licence conditions, nuclear safety requirements and regulatory standards Maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders while promoting a positive safety culture within a highly regulated environment The role will be predominantly site-based at Torness. Flexible working between office and home may be possible, subject to project and site requirements. Qualifications & Experience Typically Chartered Engineer (CEng) or HND/HNC in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline SMSTS qualification is required APMP or equivalent project management qualification and experience of modern project management techniques is preferred Proven experience identifying, implementing and complying with safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and relevant legislation Experience delivering projects within highly regulated environments, ideally within nuclear, power generation or similar safety-critical industries Experience producing and managing engineering documentation, including technical specifications and quality plans Strong capability in managing technical queries, contractor interfaces and engineering change Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with a results-focused yet collaborative approach  |
